Maheshwar- Royalty Rejuvenated!

The winter is here and it is quite chilling outside. Grab some time in sunlight and stretch out your legs to an amazing destination of district Khargone (Madhya Pradesh), Maheshwar!

Epically bound, this place has survived an existence in the Ramayana and the Mahabharata under the name of Mahishmati. Situated along the banks of river Narmada, the place is an exemplar of spirituality and architectural construct. To be at Maheshwar is like to enjoy the company of nature and the ancient forts, listening to the tale it narrates. :)

The Ahilya Fort, built by the Devi AhilyaBai Holkar offers tourist with the glimpse of her rule period, the charms her dynasty withheld, the ostentatious living and it also lets visitors enjoy the comfort of royalty being served at the fort as it engrosses suites and rooms with big, large at heart hospitable staff. A stay at fort pleases well the soul and the urge to be treated no less than a “Maharaja” of the times. :P

Temples have been a source of worship and indulgence into spiritualism from time afore. The ShastarArjun Temple, Rajrajeshwar Temple, Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Bhawani Mata Temple, Ek Mukhi Datta Temple and a many more some under the name of rulers and some, the gods and goddesses make the land pious.

Maheshwar has the essence of godliness and royalty. The place offers a perfect view of sunset to tourist making the evening much more worthy and lively.

 More to visit:
