Holi.. Stick.. Celebration..

Hello people! We’re back with some exciting stuff. Although I’m late posting this article ‘cause March’s about to end and it’s all about food and travel in the epic month of March.

Onto the list I’ve a few places and some quality dishes which you can still gulp at your nearest streets being at India!

And guys the team wishes you, lately, a very Happy Holi!

(Holi at Mathura)

Let life be free of all the demonic thoughts and soul be cleansed the way similar to the fire that burnt the devilish earlier in the Indian epics marking the start of celebrations of Holi.

Top of the heads contain:

1.      Mathura, Uttar Pradesh:

Originating itself from the “Love Saga” of all the time and above, Holi is one of the famous festivals played at Mathura. Birth land of lord Krishna, Mathura, is the root to the beginning of the colourful times known to be celebrated as Holi! Mathura has its own customs. Earlier in time, lord Krishna used to play Holi with Radha where Radha playfully beat lord with stick/s.

Now did you get the title of this article? :P

And where there is “Rang”, there is “Bhang”! :D

Made from cannabis leaves with some added flavour bhang tends to revitalize and rejuvenate a person’s mind. :P
It can be thought of as a desi version of red bull, because it also gives you wiiings! :P
(No offence)

2.      Rajasthan:

Come and sing along with the folks of Rajasthan their folk songs! Witness the royalty being at
Rajasthan and truly I admire them. :)

Adding to their chores, the day is celebrated with techniques like of Mali Holi, played by the gardener community at Rajasthan and Dolchi Holi at Bikaner. The speciality of the techniques depends on the way of celebration.

Rajasthani "Gujiya’s" taste heavenly! These are the dumplings made of flour and filled with some amazing stuff consisting of khoya, dry fruits (my favourite part) and maida. These can have fine sugar mixed to the stuff and can either be coated! :D

3.      Delhi:

Being the country capital, Delhi portrays the culture in all its spirit. Holi is celebrated at Delhi beginning with the bonfire the day before Holi, as is celebrated at all the places in India.

Dil walon ki Dilli has contributes a lot to the food industry at India. I remember, being a non vegetarian  lover, I strived hard for it and during my travel as soon as we stopped at Delhi, I and my cousin had a priority for the non- veg! And it was so damn good! That guy made the Patiala Chicken so flavoursome. Ah! Good old days. Oh yes, the Holi dishes shall be served here! :P

"Dahi Bade", a classic and all time favourite of mine is a delight of Dilli! Layered with Dahi (Curd), Tamarind Chutney, chilli powder, Cumin powder; the dish tastes out of the word! :D

Mum makes them amazingly. :D

4.      Mumbai, Maharashtra:

The bolly land has its own shine during the festivity of Holi!  From rags to riches celebrate the festival with all their heart and lose themselves to aamchi Mumbai!

I remember once there was a kind of fair into the state and it had Maharashtrian theme (or Marathi theme). There I was grossing a few eatables and went past a dish named “Puran Poli” and I was just amazed by its ingredients. A flatbread stuffed with chana and jaggery was an amazing thing to be tried out!

Guys, feeling the post to be outdated?

Actually I’m feeling so. Holi is gone and now what exactly is the sense of writing an article about Holi! Right!?

Wait a second and just jump onto the last place on the list. :D

5.      Madhya Pradesh:

Hope the day and place helps a bit to relive the Holi days. :P

Yes it is on March 28th, the fifth day from Holi, which is celebrated as Rangpanchmi at Madhya Pradesh. The fun begins later by 12 p.m. and continues to late unlike Holi!

So hopefully article’s not gonna be that boring. :P

And I had a very special delight this time and at every Holi and it is none other than Dal Baati!
Being a citizen of Madhya Pradesh hope this dish adds on to your list. :P

Dough well cooked into the oven, served with Dal (precisely Tur), Curry, rice, pickle and above all sooji ke laddu present a heavy to stomach dish! :P

The dish originally belongs to the Rajasthani Cuisine. :D

So guys celebrate Rangpanchmi being at Madhya Pradesh and play safe and dry.

Hope you had a good Holi.

Stay connected until the next update.

Next update is to be made on April 6th. Till then keep grossing the previous articles!
